CS 1.6 [ZM Extra] M249 Squad Automatic Weapon


  • - Description:

    This plugin ports the M249 Squad Automatic Weapon from Half-Life: Opposing Force to Counter-Strike 1.6 Zombie Mod.

    The original version was designed exclusively for Half-Life and depended heavily on the old WeaponMod system, which is no longer practical or stable for CS 1.6 Zombie servers.

    This release is a full technical port and rework, featuring extensive fixes, rewritten logic, and gameplay balancing to make the weapon stable, fair, and suitable for Zombie Mod / ZP-based gameplay.

    The M249 is intended to serve as a squad support weapon, providing sustained fire and area control rather than acting as an overpowered crowd-clearing tool.


    - Gameplay Details:

    • Team: Humans only

    • Targets: Zombies (bonus damage applied)

    • Ammo Type: 5.56 (CS standard M249 ammo)

    • Magazine Size: 50 rounds

    • Fire Mode: Fully automatic

    • Role: Squad-support weapon focused on suppression, recoil-based control, and defensive coverage not a round-breaking weapon


  • - Balance System (Anti-Abuse)

    To preserve round balance and prevent weapon spam, a strict purchase system is enforced:

    - Normal Players:

    • Maximum 3 buyers per round

    • Weapon becomes available only if at least 9 zombies are alive

    • Each player can purchase once per round

  • - VIP / Admin:

    • Maximum 2 purchases per round

    • Same zombie-count requirement applies

  • This system ensures the weapon remains rare, tactical, and impactful without overpowering human teams.


    - Technical Changes & Improvements:

    • Fully ported from Half-Life to Counter-Strike 1.6

    • Compatible with Zombie Mod / Zombie Plague–based servers

    • Removed dependency on legacy WeaponMod logic

    • Fixed weapon disappearing after switching weapons

    • Implemented custom recoil and knockback inspired by Half-Life behavior

    • Fixed HUD icon, ammo display, and WeaponList updates

    • Disabled original M249 firing event using FM_PlaybackEvent

    • Added random weapon sway for more realistic handling

    • Fixed sounds, animations, reload logic, and fire timing

    • Proper shell and belt link ejection

    • Tested on ReHLDS (Linux) for stability
